Apple’s ‘Peek Performance’ event, which will serve as the company’s first big product launch demonstration, will take place on March 8 (tomorrow).
What exactly does Apple have in mind? Let’s take it step by step.
Spring is officially here, which means it’s time for Apple enthusiasts to upgrade their devices. An event called ‘Peek Performance’ will take place in the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, on March 8 at 11:30 pm Indian Standard Time (IST), and will be broadcast live on the Apple’s Event Page. There is widespread speculation that a successor to the iPhone SE from 2020, an upgraded iPad Air with 5G, and at least one new Mac with Apple Silicon will be introduced. But what else is there? The following is a list of what tech experts believe Apple CEO Tim Cook and the firm will announce on Tuesday.
iPhone SE to get introduced
It is almost certain that an iPhone SE replacement will be released in 2022 at this point. With the exception of ultra-fast 5G connection and a strong A15 Bionic CPU, Apple’s Spring event next week will most likely see the introduction of the third-generation iPhone, which will be almost identical to the previous model. Apple’s iPhone SE 3 will appear and function just like the iPhone 8, with the same 4.7-inch LCD display, large top and bottom bezels, and a Touch ID home button as the iPhone 8. The iPhone SE 3 will be positioned as Apple’s most cheap 5G smartphone, with a price tag expected to be $399 or less. As a bargain iPhone, it’s unlikely to serve as a substitute for the iPhone XR.
The iPad Air will be upgraded to 5G.
Apple’s highly anticipated presentation on March 8 will also include an improved iPad Air. It is expected that this iPad, which has traditionally been a mid-range option in Apple’s tablet lineup, will have a design similar to the previous-generation model, but will include 5G connectivity, an A15 or M1 processor, and the Center Stage camera feature, which keeps you and anyone else with you in the frame during video calls. The next-generation iPad Air will retain the side-mounted Touch ID sensor and the LCD panel from the previous model. The iPad Air 4, which was upgraded in 2020, was acclaimed for its excellent performance, luxurious design, and compatibility with the Magic keyboard, which helped to make the tablet extremely useful.
Mac mini with a high-end configuration
In addition, it’s possible that we’ll see a redesigned Mac mini. However, it will not be able to completely replace the present Mac mini with the M1 processor. Instead, it will most likely be marketed as a high-end Mac mini, and it will take the place of the Intel-based device that has become a bit out of place in the current Apple product portfolio. In all likelihood, it will come with the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, which were first seen in the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro models released last week. It is hoped that a quicker and more powerful Mac mini would be appreciated by creative users who are eager to enhance their current desktop configuration. Additionally, a fresh design and an increased number of ports are likely to be included with the next Mini Mac. It is yet unclear if the next Mac mini will be branded as “Mac Studio” or something else entirely.
What not to anticipate at Apple’s next announcement.
MacBook Pro 13-inch with M2 graphics
Apple is also rumoured to be considering the release of a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, however it is unknown if the gadget will be equipped with the impending M2 processor. At this moment, it is difficult to estimate whether or not Apple will be ready to demonstrate the M2 CPU at its Spring presentation. According to a recent Bloomberg article, Apple’s in-house CPU is slated to make its debut in a newly revamped MacBook Air, a whole new Mac mini, and a 24-inch iMac, among other applications. With the new MacBook Air not expected to arrive before the holidays, it’s difficult to assume that Apple will release the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 processor at this point in the year. It was in November 2020 that Apple unveiled its first in-house Apple silicon for the Mac, a move that enabled Cupertino to phase off the usage of Intel-branded CPUs in its laptops.
iMac 27-inch display
Although a 27-inch iMac has been rumoured for months, don’t expect it to be released any time soon. The M1 Pro and M1 Max CPUs are expected to power the more powerful all-in-one iMac, according to reports. It may also include a mini-LED display, which is the same sort of panel that is used on the 16-inch MacBook Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, among other things. The iMac Pro, according to rumours, will be the model to which this refers. Expect the design of the 27-inch iMac to be identical to that of the M1 24-inch iMac, with the addition of a Full HD camera, if that is what the company decides to include. Insiders predict that the 27-inch iMac will be unveiled in June, around the same time as the annual WWDC conference will take off in San Francisco.
